Military Flight Aptitude Tests. Officer Candidate Tests. Air Force Officer's Guide. Airman's Guide. Flight Simulator. Pilot Kneeboards. You are beginning a year of intense training that will culminate with your being awarded wings-provided you remain committed to the task.

The mission at your flying training wing is to train new pilots to become the finest military pilots in the world. Nothing matches the thrill and excitement of aviation.

Briefing sorties, executing maneuvers, and safely recovering a military jet requires intense focus and commitment to mission accomplishment. Encampment requirement is removed for some activities.

Look at the activity ad page to see if it is required. Applications submitted in eServices through 20 Nov for winter and 15 Jan for summer are considered "On-Time" and are given priority placement into "primary" status.

Use this "Apply Online" link to access the application site on eServices. Notifications of winter placements go out by mid to late December. Spring placements are as outlined on their advertisements on this site. Notifications for summer applicants will go out on or about 1 March and as activities fill vacancies after 1 March. Those cadets who remain on alternate lists may be contacted at any time to fill a slot.

These programs are designed to offset costs associated with attending some NCSAs, as well as flight academies. They include payment of your activity fees and transportation to and from the activity.

Being offered financial assistance is not a guarantee of acceptance into an activity. You must compete for and receive a slot at an activity. Use the "Apply Online" link here or on the ncsas. Applicants will need to complete the application to include uploading the following documents in PDF format to the supplemental tab of their eServices application.

The training profiles closely resemble typical missions flown by the C Other students are selected to fly helicopters and complete their advanced training at Fort Rucker, Ala. The helicopter syllabus includes operational skills such as low-level flying and combat tactics training.

When student pilots are not flying or in simulators, much of their duty day is taken up with academic classes, officer development, self-study and physical conditioning. Academics include conventional classes where contractor and active-duty military serve as instructors. Additionally, classroom instruction is augmented by computer-assisted instruction CAI. Officer development topics include Air Force doctrine, rated officer duties, flying assignments, and perspectives of senior noncommissioned officers and senior officers.

After successfully completing JSUPT, officers receive their silver wings and are awarded the aeronautical rating of pilot. They attend follow-on training in their assigned aircraft at various bases known as Formal Training Units FTUs around the country. Nineteenth Air Force also provides follow-on training for most Air Force pilots in their assigned aircraft.
