Recently released cars will likely experience even longer lives and accumulate even more mileage. But will many Dodge Challengers still roam the roads 12 years from now?
Not exactly. People know this American automaker more for its performance vehicles rather than dependability. Dodge typically finishes in the bottom half of reliability rankings. The publication gathers data from their subscribers who own Dodge Challengers from previous model years.
It then uses this feedback and expert analysis to determine how likely this vehicle will incur future problems. A Dodge Challenger can last for , to , miles, subject to proper usage and diligent maintenance.
If you drive an average of 15, miles per year, a Challenger can serve you for 16 to 20 years if you use it conscientiously and care for it properly.
The typical Challenger would last longer than , miles. A well maintained one may get to , or even , miles before requiring major repairs. That being said, since there is a large range, the miles to be expected depends on service and maintenance. Your regular driving terrain would affect your driving method. Luck is also a factor that you should not ignore. No matter the precision with which they produce cars, it is impossible to produce two identical cars with identical durability.
Some model years of vehicles may have factory issues that can reduce their lifespan, so perform due diligence before getting a Dodge Challenger. There is no set time to expect rust on a Challenger. With regular washing, cleaning and drying, your Challenger can go a pretty long time without rust.
Challengers being produced these days are less susceptible to rust than older models. This is because they make upgrades yearly and introduce new materials during production. These materials have greater resistance to rust than the ones used for older models.
Besides regular washing and maintenance, many drivers get their cars rustproofed every once in a while. If you choose to get your car rustproofed, you can use a tar-based spray or an oil spray.
Vinyl wraps provide a thin covering on your Challenger that protects it from surface rust. The wheels are also likely to be affected by rust. You should ensure that your car is rust free before you consider using a vinyl wrap.
Vinyl wraps used on an already rust covered Challenger would only lead to more rust. This would do more harm than good.
While the Challenger usually surpasses , miles, the Corvette might struggle a little to last that many miles. Luis answered 5 years ago. Brian answered 3 years ago. I own my 3rd Dodge Charger , , and I have put at least , miles on the first two before I sold them still running like new. My that I'm driving has , miles with upgraded exhaust, cold air intake, and tuned. I drive it like I stole it, most of the time. Only run synthetic blend, and have services done as recommended by the dealer.
Had a couple of little issues that were all recalls and Dodge really handled it quickly. I'd be happy to only drive a Charger for the rest of my life. I own a Challenger RT, i have miles on it. The only issues i have had with it are the recalls. Some pretty substantial such as the alternator issue that it would melt down and kill the car while driving. I did not experience this failure. Just know that there is alot of recall work that has to be done on the vehicle if the previous owners didn't have them done.
That is pre models only i think? The local dodge house was very helpful and quick with all work. Other than that work, its been a stud. Like others have said, pony up the extra cash for synthetic oil. Guru9YS5JT answered 9 months ago.
